Canadians know how to have fun. Whether you’re trolling for bass, enjoying a cruise on your pontoon, or having some fun on your PWC, the wide Canadian sky is the limit to the enjoyment you can have, especially if you know that your insurance coverage is working hard to protect you.
Because your insurance policy is customized to your unique needs, there is no such thing as a ‘cookie cutter’ policy in our world. At Coughlin Insurance Brokers we have access to a wide variety of boat insurance plans for all types of pleasure crafts including luxury cruisers, wake boats, pontoons, fishing boats & PWC’s and can customize the right plan to fit your needs.
Below is a brief overview of available coverage and added value features common to most watercraft policies we provide:
Your stand policy will cover your watercraft against all risk of direct physical loss or physical damage, including Collision, Upset, Fire, Theft, Vandalism, except as excluded in the policy wording.
Legal Liability & Water-Ski Liability Extension
Every policy you have the choice of Liability Limits at $1M, $2M or higher. Legal Liability coverage can also extended to cover any Wakeboarders, Skiers or Tubers being pulled by your watercraft.
In the event of a total loss, with an Agreed Value policy the settlement will be paid out reflective of amount of insurance shown on the policy at the time of the loss (less any applicable deductible) without deduction for depreciation. In the event of a partial loss, if no used replacement parts of like kind and quality are available, the Insurer will ensure that your boat will be repaired with new parts.
Your policy can cover costs incurred by you should your vessel become disabled for any reason (other than a loss or damage covered by your policy as this is already included in the standard overage). The policy will pay the reasonable costs, up to limits of $1,500 to $5,000 (depending on the Insurer) for:
1. Towing to the nearest repair facility
2. The cost of delivery of fuel or repair parts to the site of disablement, including the cost of fuel
3. The cost of emergency labour performed at the site of disablement.
Loss Of Use
Your policy can cover the reasonable costs incurred should your vessel be disabled as a result of a claim, up to limits of $1,500 – $3,000 (depending on the Insurer).
Special Limits of Coverage
Personal Effects – of you and your guests while they are on board your watercraft.
